Every review is from someone who sat the real Life in the UK test after practising here.
“Passed first time!”
I was nervous about the test but after two weeks of daily practice on here I passed with 22/24. The explanations are brilliant — they actually teach you the material, not just the answers.
“So much better than the official practice test.”
The government practice test is just 10 questions. This platform has hundreds — every topic, every chapter. Real preparation.

I love that you can just start practising immediately without creating an account. No popups, no subscription pressure. Just questions.
“Best revision tool.”
I spent £50 on an exam and failed. Then I found this, studied seriously for 10 days, and sailed through with 22/24. Wish I had found it sooner.

What I love most is that every wrong answer comes with an explanation that cites the relevant page of the handbook. I learned so much more than just facts.
“Finally passed after two failures.”
Failed the real test twice before I found this site. The topic-by-topic breakdown showed me exactly where I was going wrong. Third time lucky — passed!
“Passed on my lunch breaks!”

What is the Life in the UK test?
The Life in the UK test is a requirement for people who want to become permanent UK residents or British citizens. It consists of 24 multiple-choice questions from the official handbook, answered in 45 minutes. You need to get at least 18 correct to pass.
Who needs to take the Life in the UK test?
You are required to take the test if you are applying for indefinite leave to remain (ILR/settlement) or British citizenship (naturalisation). Some groups are exempt, including children under 18 and adults aged 65 or over.
How do I book the official test?
You can book the test at an approved Life in the UK test centre through the official government website at gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test. The test currently costs £50 per attempt and must be booked at least 3 days in advance.
How many questions do I need to get right?
You need to answer at least 18 out of 24 questions correctly to pass — which is a 75% pass mark. If you answer fewer than 18 correctly, you will need to book and pay for another attempt.
Are the practice questions the same as the real test?
Real test questions are drawn from the official "Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents" handbook. Our practice questions closely reflect the style, topic spread, and difficulty of the official test, but the exact phrasing in the real test may vary.
Can I use this site on my phone?
Yes — this site is fully optimised for mobile. Every test, question, and explanation is designed to work perfectly on any screen size. You can practice on your commute, in your lunch break, or anywhere with an internet connection.
Do I need to create an account to practise?
No. You can start answering questions immediately without creating an account. Your progress is saved locally in your browser. If you sign up for a free account, your progress syncs across devices.
What if I fail — can I retake the test?
Yes. If you fail the official Life in the UK test you can retake it as many times as needed. Each attempt costs £50 and there is no limit on the number of retries. You can continue living in the UK while you prepare and rebook.
Is this site completely free?
